The logical number pad

The world’s first keyboard with a logical number pad.

It’s a layout that works with you – not against you.

Here’s the way it should be

Your phone has a logical number pad.

The numbers run from top to bottom, and left to right.

They start at 1 and end at 9.

That makes sense.

It’s how your brain works.

Most societies read from left to right, and from top to bottom.

Your phone has a logical number pad
The traditional 7-8-9 number pad
Your computer number pad makes no sense.

But on a full-size computer keyboard, the numbers run the wrong way – from seven to three.

So, every time you switch from your phone to your keyboard, your brain is challenged.

Why inflict that need for extra processing on your poor overloaded brain?

It’s unnecessary.

And your brain has much better things to do.

But now we have a solution.

It’s the itsio keyboard, the world’s first keyboard with a logical number pad.

Calm down, brain. We have a solution.

Here are comments made by the interviewees who preferred the itsio 1-2-3 number pad:

"The layout with 1 2 3 is much more appealing. The other number layout feels confusing."

This layout of numbers feels most logical to me.

"I prefer starting with 1,2,3. To me, it feels more natural and intuitive."

"It might not be standard, but I would prefer starting with 1 on top."

"A is both faster when using three fingers, and more intuitive, with the lower numbers at the top."

"The layout with 1 2 3 is much more appealing. The other number layout feels confusing."

"This one most closely resembles how phone number layouts work so I'd be most familiar with it."

"I strongly prefer 123, because it’s the correct order, the other isn’t the correct order so I don’t know why I would want that."

"I prefer the numbers in order going forward versus going backwards."

"I do feel like my eyes understand starting from the top better."

But in case you thought everyone was really keen to get this keyboard, they aren’t.

Below are some of the 70% of respondents who are going to stick with their 7-8-9 board.

You’ll notice the use of words like ‘conventional’, ‘traditional’, and ‘familiar’.

"I am more familiar with 7, 8, 9. I don't want to learn a new way of doing something like that."

"I’m more use to this style of keyboard key layout."

"I would choose "B" because I am used to this number keyboard because it is what I learned one."

"B is more conventional and I am used to that."

"Option b is the traditional 10 key pad with the 1 2 3 on the bottom that is how I learned to type."

"I prefer the keypad in option b because that is the one that I am more familiar with."

"I prefer B, because it is the traditional layout that I am used to. The other would be disorientating."

Here’s why the itsio board is different from –  and better than – conventional keyboards.

It’s Iconic and Distinctive.

The itsio keyboard is the first new standard layout since 1965. It’s your chance to be at the forefront of new ideas in technology.

It’s Beautiful.

From the low-profile keys to the innovative number pad, the itsio keyboard is a thing of beauty.

Simple.

The number pad works in the same way as your phone’s keypad.

Convenient.

Your mind doesn’t have to remember two different keypads – the phone and the computer keypad.

Logical.

Less stress, because it works like your brain does.

Productive.

You’ll do more work in less time, because your fingers and brain will want to use the number pad more often.

Research-based.

Our surveys find that 31% of people don’t like a 7-8-9 number pad. They prefer a 1-2-3 layout.

Exclusive.

This number pad is available only from itsio. We have patents either granted (as in the UK) or pending (China).

High quality keys.

The keyboard uses quieter tactile keys that are less noisy, and therefore calming. They minimise fatigue and are ideal for longer sessions.

Also, the itsio board uses Scissor switches that don’t wobble when you press the key. It’s less tiring.

Backlit.

Want to work at night? You got it. The keyboard gives you back lighting when you need it.

Two power sources.

You can use the USB A to C lead for direct power. Or, for added freedom, dispense with the lead and work wirelessly, using the long-life rechargeable battery.

Ergonomic.

The low-profile board reduces your wrist angle, which means less stress. And there are riser feet under the board if you want an elevated profile.
